María Ignacia Ormazábal holds a Law degree (Licenciada en Ciencias Jurídicas y Sociales) from the University of Chile. She passed her final degree examination with highest distinction in November 2025 and was awarded the Pedro Nicolás Montenegro Prize, granted to the top graduate of her class.
During her university years, she gained experience in competition law and economic regulation, real estate and urban planning law, criminal law, mining and natural resources, as well as in jurisprudential analysis.
She worked as a paralegal at FerradaNehme in the Competition and Economic Regulation practice. Previously, she served as a paralegal and intern at Barros y Errázuriz in the Real Estate and Urban Planning practice.
She also completed internships at the Chilean State Defence Council (Criminal Division), the Constitutional Court (Case Law Bulletin), and Bofill Mir (Mining and Natural Resources).
In the academic field, she has served as a teaching assistant in Civil Law, Economic Law, Procedural Law and Private International Law.
